Our Communities

There are 3 distinct communities in our parish:
Tong Village – just 4 miles south-east of Bradford, the semi-rural village of Tong has been there for hundreds of years!
Holme Wood – an estate on the outer edge of the city of Bradford, it’s a mixture of private and social housing, with a diverse community of people.
Laisterdyke and Sutton – takes us from the outer edges of Bradford in towards the city centre.
All three communities are wonderfully distinct, and yet overlap in many ways. As a church we hope to love and serve our communities as best we can.

Our Vision

We have a vision for our parish, which can be summed up in 4 points:
• We want to see Jesus more in the centre of all we do, starting with ourselves and then reaching out to others.
• We want to see people have a sense of belonging to the church, growing in their belief and faith in God, and their lives being transformed by God’s love.
• We want to grow in understanding of the Bible so that we might see our faith grow and create an open invitation for others to come in.
• We want to meet the needs of those around us, to be open, hospitable and relevant to the communities we serve through showing and sharing God's love.
We hope this gives you a sense of who we are and what we hope to see God do in our lives and all around us!
