St Christopher's

At St Christopher’s we welcome everyone to come and worship! We currently have 2 congregations that meet.
Encounter is a weekly communion service at 9.30am in the church. This is our liturgical and robed service of Holy Communion, suitable for adults with chidlren's sheets provided. The music is mostly from digital sources, and is a mixture of traditional hymns and more modern worship songs.
Connect used to meet weekly before covid, and is currently reviewing it's regular meetings - see below for details. This is our family and all-age gathering, which is informal in style and worships in a variety of ways - through music, activities, crafts and games, and through shared meals.
Whichever service you come to, we see ourselves as one church family, and hope you feel welcome.

1st Sunday: Together Service - 9.30am

On the first Sunday each month our two congregations at St Christopher's - Encounter and Connect - meet together for a joint service at 9.30am.
This is an All-Age service, enabling people to worship together in a way that has elements of both congregations.
Fellowship over food is really important to us, so breakfast is included!

2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays: Encounter - 9.30am

This is our weekly communion service at 9.30am using Common Worship. Robes are worn at this service, but the style is fairly informal. The liturgy is projected onto a screen, children's sheets are provided, and the sermon is aimed at the adult congregation.
We encourage people to lead the readings and intercessions, and we use a variety of older hymns and newer worship songs (typically from New Wine) and endeavour to learn new songs every year. Although we mostly use our own backing tracks, we do have some musicians who are occasionally involved in worship leading.

Connect Service - 11am

THE CONNECT SERVICE HAS RE-STARTED IT'S WEEKLY PATTERN

We are meeting in the church at 11am for a cuppa to chat about a passage from the bible, some songs (some with actions) and prayer.

5th Sunday: Altogether at 11am

On the months with a 5th Sunday, we join with the other churches in the parish for a United Parish Service . This is held at St Christopher's Church , as our biggest church building.
We believe it is important to gather together a parish on occasion, as it reminds us that we are together the family of God, and gives an opportunity to worship and celebrate with each other.
